Analysis: For Republican Propagandist Oliver North, Iraq Becoming a Quagmire Has Nothing to Do With Bush - It's the Left's Fault
Facts Relating to Iraq:
- George W. Bush initiated the Iraq War
- George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Condi Rice, and Karl Rove "fixed" the Iraq pre-war intelligence around their Iraq policy (Downing Street Memo etc.)
- When Bush's Generals tried to warn him that projected force strength would not allow, for the proper policing of Iraq following combat operations, the Generals were relieved of their duty
- The Bush administration dismantled the Iraqi Army
- Bush was warned by allies such as France and Germany, that invading Iraq would result in the United States becoming bogged down in the region
- Bush ignored everyone that disagreed with his fantasies concerning Iraq - Cheney insisted U.S. soldiers would be greeted with flowers
Facts aside, as is a basic tenet of Republican thought; Oliver North, convicted felon for his part in Iran-Contra, and current GOP uber-propagandist employed by Pravda USA's FOX News Channel, doesn't think Bush's lying and incompetence have anything to do with Iraq becoming another Vietnam-like quagmire. Further, Mission Critical's agents have determined that for North, Vietnam having became a quagmire had nothing at all to do with failed government policies.
Evidence of North's Delusional Iraq-Vietnam Perspective:
"... .But Oliver North says his biggest fear is that the Left will be successful in making Iraq into another Vietnam..." Reported by Chad Groening, Agape Press, 4 November 2005
Analysis:
In North's dark, shallow and simple mind, wars are not fought and won on the battlefield. According to North, no war is won or lost based upon tactics. Government policy and planning has nothing to do with a war's outcome. In Oliver North's fantasy, wars are won and lost by those having nothing to do with either their existence, or execution. Ultimately, for North, wars are won or lost based upon the "evil Left's" perception of the war being fought. Mostly however, for Oliver North, there is no such thing as a "bad war."
Summary:
Oliver North's illegal and unethical behavior relating to Iran-Contra, brought disgrace upon his nation and the United States Marine Corps. Mister North was not then, and he is not now, a good patriot. Marines are supposed to be people of character. People with character do not blame others, for their or their friends failed policies. People of character take responsibility for their actions, and insist their friends do the same. Finally, Mister North's attempt to blame "the Left" for Vietnam and Iraq, is pure propaganda designed to scapegoat others, for the failings of Mister North's Republican rulers.
